Our Story

Hi,

I am Sarah , the Proud Owner and Operator here at Chic's .

As a child , i grew up making Pierogi with my grandmother , it was something special we did and i was always watching and helping. I remember my grandmother laughing at some of my first attempts , (to be fair they were hideous ) when i showed her my mangled lump of dough , shed say well its still a pierogi , no matter the shape . My grandmother explained to me , that when she was taught , by my Ukrainian Baba , her first looked much the same , and that she was determined , as a British wife joining the Ukrainian family in Canada  to learn the family tradition.

It didn't take long before i managed to figure out the proper method myself , and started coming up with my own additions to our fillings .

Pierogi have always been an important part of my life.

From having the time to hear grammas stories while making them ,

to the Pierogi Parties i would throw when i had interested friends ..

it has always been a way to bring people together , in the making , and consuming of these tasty pockets of yum...

Now i have the opportunity to share them with my community .  I am so grateful to everyone that has supported us this year and a half .

those that have watched from the start, know the business has changed over time , we launched during the pandemic lockdown , but have been able to open and grow since , we have a new larger booth at the market , and there are some big updates coming !!! so please stay tuned for all of the new and exciting things to come
